Day 10 ...He's Got the Whole World In His Hands

Good Morning Wee Vikings,

We miss you and love you!
Today would have been Grandparent's Day at FPD.  Since we can't be at school please send your grandparents a little note of cheer!

Thank you God for the sunshine and warm weather.  It has been the perfect week for us to learn about Springtime.

While you have been out an about what creatures have you found?
Watch this and see if you have seen any of these animals.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6ljGXMMB-g

This is a good book that talks about the changes that happen when Spring comes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkc78nhsDoQ

Yesterday a carpenter bee kept swarming around me.  They are looking to make a hole in the wood to make a nest of their babies.
Can you draw a bee?

Miss Allison, Mrs. Keena, Mrs. Dana and Mrs. Christy miss you tons!
Hopefully we can have another drive through soon.

Do something fun next week!
Build a blanket fort inside or outside, read a book while you are in there.                                          Go pick strawberries or learn how to ride your bike without training wheels.
We will be praying that you all stay safe, happy and healthy!!

Day 9 ..Ladybug Day

Welcome Wee Vikings,

Thank you God for sunny weather! Thank you for the birds that sing and the flowers that are blooming. Have any of you found any treasures?

Today we will talk about ladybugs.  Have you seen any?

If you have The Grouchy Ladybug on your book shelf, see if you can read it.  One of our favorite authors wrote this book.  His name is Eric Carle.
If you don't have the book, watch it here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlhucZKcALk&t=20s

Did you notice that the colors of a ladybug are the same colors of an FPD Viking?
How many legs do you count on the grouchy ladybug?
You can draw a ladybug with a big circle body, little circle eyes and 6 legs.
Here is a demonstration : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXBEl0BLM98
If you draw it, send me a picture.

If you want to learn more about ladybugs, watch this.

Here's a sweet ladybug song

If you catch one let us know.
We love you!

Day 8 Have you seen the Wind?

Good Morning Wee Vikings,

Thankfully the sun is going to shine today.  God is blessing us with some pretty Spring weather.

Have you seen the wind? Have you felt it? Can you tell me what the wind blows?
The wind blows many things. I have a beautiful American flag blowing outside my window right now.
The wind also makes many things go.  What do you think?                                                                      Watch this:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJwFK9gZplg&t=38s

Can you draw a kite using the shape of a diamond?  Make it really colorful.  You can use paper or you can draw one on the sidewalk with chalk.  Be sure to make a long string so it will fly,  If dad or granddad (or mom or grandma) know how to make a paper airplane.,let them help you and see if it will fly.  If you have bubbles, blow them.

When you go outside can you see any dandelion blooms? Pick one and blow it and make a wish. Please wish that we can come back to school soon. :)
Watch closely for things that the wind moves.

Sid the Science guy has a great video too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgLNltn-iPY

See if you have a book on your bookshelf about the wind and see if mom or dad will read it to you!

We love you and we are praying for you and your family.
Sing Jesus loves Me with your family.  Jesus loves to hear us worship Him.

We love you!

Day 7..Who MADE you?

Good Morning Wee Vikings,

Please have Mom ask you these Catechism questions.

 Who made you?
        GOD
Why did God make you and all things?
         For His Own Glory
How can you glorify God?
By loving Him and doing what He commands
Why should you glorify God?
Because He made me and He takes care of me.

"Cast All your anxiety on Him because He will take care of you"  1 Peter 5:7

Watch and sing this song.  It will teach you another verse about casting your cares on the LORD!

   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vc9pEb-Ej7U

We continue to talk about Springtime.

Do you know what a billy goat is?  Where does a billy goat live? What do you think they eat?
Watch this fairy tale The Three Billy Goats Gruff on Super Why.

   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_2bOAS9OaM

After you watch Super Why think of something you could make a bridge with.  You may could even build a bridge outside over a rain puddle.  When you are outside look for a log or long stick you could balance on or walk across like a real bridge.
If you are inside you could build a bridge with legos or blocks.                                                              Let  your stuffed animal or favorite transformer walk across  the bridge.                                                Recreate the story for your parents.

Do you think you could draw a picture of that troll ?
Send us a picture. I know you can.

We love you!
Miss Allison and Mrs Dana
Don't forget your MANNERS this week!

Day 6..This is the day that the Lord has made

Wee Vikings,

This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:21

Good Morning to our sweet ones!  Your teachers miss you so much are we are praying for you to be safe, happy and obedient to your mom and dad, grandparents or babysitters.
Thank your  sweet mommy or grandmommy for being your teacher this week.
We love seeing what you are doing at home.
This week we will continue our "Spring is Here" theme.

Pray this morning for your classmates.  Thank God for things you are grateful for.                                     Praise Him for the 4 Seasons, especially Springtime!                                                                           Be sure to tell mama what the 4 seasons are too.  What season is your birthday in?

Sing This is the Day that The Lord has Made and I've got the Joy, Joy Joy Down in my Heart .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imK7pAMf61E&list=PLv7XLvuiif0VhYOiBVNx6_kFl1D2B58pG&index=24

What are some things you are joyful about?

Go outside if it's not raining and ask your mom if you can use some scissors to cut some pieces of grass, leaves, flowers.  If you find any pretty flowers, sit down and draw a picture of it.
Then, ask you mom if you can have a plain piece of paper and a heavy book. Put the flower in the middle of the book and close it.  Keep it there until Friday. It will be a flower press.

Watch this short video about what happens in the Spring.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaZ2CICGuL8

If you go back outside, see if you can hear and find a songbird.  We're going to look for songbirds too.  If it's raining, get an umbrella and some rain boots and ask mama if you can jump in a rain puddle. After it has rained and the sun comes out, look for rainbows in the sky.

We love you!
Moms and Dads, hang in there. We are all in this together.
Please let us know if you need ANYTHING!!

Day 4 of Distant Learning

Good Morning Wee Vikings!

Today, we are hoping the sun is going to shine. I hear the birds outside my window so I know what they are up to.  What do you think they are doing?
Get outside and explore nature.

If you have some sidewalk chalk, draw a big rainbow.  Draw yourself under it.

Rainbow starts with the letter R.  When you are outside today, see how many things start with the letter R.

David Shannon is the author of "No, David" one of our favorite books. He also wrote the book STRIPES...watch it here!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlqlbLdAYOw

Draw a picture of yourself with a striped face.

Cosmic Yoga is a great place to calm down and learn about Springtime.
You can watch here.

Library Time with Mrs. Darnell and Day 3 of Distant Learning!

Good Morning Wee Vikings,

I hear birds chirping outside my window so that means Spring is near!
It may rain today and wash the pollen away but the sun is supposed to be out tomorrow so we can play outside! When you go outside watch the birds leave the bushes and trees in your yard.                   They are probably building a nest!

Today you can start a paper chain and add to it daily to see how many days we are out of school.
Cut strips of paper and let mom staple it into a circle.  We are on day 3 and we miss ya'll more everyday!

Today use a rectangle and a triangle and draw a picture of your house.  Let mom teach you your address.

Mrs. Darnell would be reading to us today.
Check it out  - Click Here

We will check in tomorrow!
This is a great song we would be singing at school today.

Distant Learning for our Wee Vikings!

Moms and Dads,
We will start distance learning this week,
We miss our babies (and their parents) so much already.
Please sign up for daily updates on our blog.  There should be a sign up section on the left side of our blog.   It will alert your email when we post.
Everyday we will post some fun activities to keep us all on the same page as we are out.

Please remember that the most important activities for our Wee Vikings is to read/talk and listen together.

This week is St. Patrick's Day and the study of 4 leaf clovers, rainbows and the wee little fellow named the leprechaun.

Tomorrow:
Happy St. Patrick's Day.
If you have any Lucky Charms cereal, sort the marshmallows and count them.

Pretend the naughty leprechaun has come for a visit and rearranged a few things.

If you have green food coloring I usually tell the kids he used our potty.. :)

Talk about St. Patrick.  He was a missionary that told many people about God and taught them about the Trinity, the Father, the Son and The Holy Ghost with a 3 leaf clover.
Take a walk in the yard and find some clovers. Look really hard to find that lucky 4 leaf clover.
If you are really brave you can mix yellow and blue paint and make green.

This is just the beginning of our distant learning adventure.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need something, have a great idea or a prayer request.

God is in control and this virus is not a surprise to Him.
We love ya'll and we are praying for your family to stay healthy!

some great movement videos are from
