Book Buddies with Mrs. Stone’s Second Grade

We had a great treat today as Mrs. Stone’s second grade class came to visit us. We worked together to make torn paper crows for our bulletin board and for the second graders to read a few books! The Wee Vikings loved that one on one attention with the “big kids”.

Three Littke Pigs

This week we read several versions of The Three Little Pigs as we talked about our houses and homes unit. We ate that was straw, sticks and bricks, decorated houses and re-enacted the story.  It was a fun week! Ask your kids to tell you the story. I’m sure they would love it!

Lower School Newsletter from Mrs. Putnal

LOWER SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
   from Wade Putnal

September 13, 2018
Our mission at First Presbyterian Day School is to educate and equip students
to change the world for God’s glory.
Elementary ChapelWe had our first chapel on Tuesday. FPD faculty member, Mr. James Moore shared a message about the importance of being a friend to all of those around you each and every day. He shared how important it is to be kind, understanding, and loving to all. He reminded us that we all need friends that lift each other up, just like Jesus did in his daily walk.
Parents and visitors are always welcome to join us for chapel. Chapel dates will be announced in newsletters and will also be noted on teachers’ blogs. We will have a special marked section for parents and visitors, as classes also have assigned seating areas. Know that you are always welcome to get up and come down to the front to take pictures or video. 😊 Our next chapel date will be Tuesday, September 25th @ 12:05pm
FPD’s ANNUAL FUND>>> We are proud to recognize that our Elementary staff has already donated and are 100% in participation and support of this year’s annual fund.  WE would love for our parents to be 100% with us! THANK YOU for giving if you have already. Please think about giving if you have not. Any amount is appreciated and recognized as participation! Your donation can be designated to any specific area you choose or to the general Annual Fund. The teachers and support staff believe in offering our students the very best experiences and opportunities… just like you! With this being said, the challenge is on…make a donation of any amount and you count in getting to the 100% goal with our parents!! J We would like to be able to give our students the largest Elementary School Popsicle Party ever for 100% parent participation… remember any amount counts! You may donate online or send in a check to FPD and mark annual fund in the memo blank😊

Where do we live? America!

As we learn “All About Me” we are learning about where we live; our city, state, and community.  Our theme coincides with 9/11 this year so what better way is there to celebrate our country on such an important day for the USA! God bless America!
